Bali Tourism Levy

What is it?
On the 14th of February 2024 The Bali provincial government Bali introduced a special tourist levy. It amounts to IDR 150,000 per person and is mandatory for all international arrivals. The funds generated will be used to protect Balinese culture and improve the natural environment of Bali.

This levy needs to be paid once and is valid during your stay, regardless of how long you will be staying.

How can you pay for it?
As an international visitor you have two options of paying this levy.

  1. Prior to arrival, you may pay online through the website https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/ After payment, you will receive a QR code. This code can be stored on your phone or printed. It is to be shown to agents and officers of the government as proof of your payment.
  2. Alternatively, payment can be made upon arrival at designated counters in various airports. Payment methods can include payment with cash credit cards or the EDC method (Electronic Data Capture).  The following YouTube video shows the location of a Bali Tourism Levy counter in the International Airport of Bali, where you have just arrived:  https://youtu.be/dIOlWrZl0A8
  3. There are other locations, such as shopping malls, where similar counters have been set up to receive your payment.

Please, observe the following remarks:

  1. We encourage visitors to consider pre-payment through the Love Bali website mentioned above: https://lovebali.baliprov.go.id/
  2. However, occasionally the website is down. There is no reason to worry since nobody will ask for proof upon departure or arrival. Checking your payment is done at random by government officials at well-known tourist spots. So far there is no sanction if you have not paid. Upon checking, officials will encourage you to pay on the spot.
  3. The payment counter in the Bali International Arrival airport as shown in the video, is located BEFORE you meet your guide.
