This region is unmistakably dominated by the massive, over 700 sq km Bali Barat National Park. It is noted for two small Christian enclaves, just before reaching Gilimanuk, the ferry port connecting Bali and Java. Up to this day, Palasari and Belimbingsari house two communities that separates Balinese culture from its religious background to dramatic effect.Think Christian churches blending local and western architectural elements, imagine Balinese music & dance as bible illustrations! Once you pass Gilimanuk and head in eastern direction, you'll drive past the lonely coastal road bordering the Bali Barat Park, reaching for Pemuteran, one of the places you are likely to stay in this area. This is also a fairly known point of entry to Menjangan Island, an easy accessible part of the Bali Barat Park and a true diver's & snorkeler's heaven.
