Who We Are

Kelana DMC (PT Nitya Kelana Indah) is a limited liability company (PT) established under Indonesian law. The company was founded in 1996 by Marc Jacobs and Marleen Castelein, two Belgian nationals with a combined professional experience of more than 40 years in the travel industry., supported by an expanded team and a newly appointed General Manager. Mr. Marcel Barmettler, originally from Switzerland, brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having spent more than a decade in Bali. Before relocating to Indonesia, the two founders owned and managed an outbound travel company in Belgium.

Kelana DMC is based in Bali, at the heart of Indonesia's tourism industry. Through a strong network of affiliated companies and representatives, the company operates throughout the Indonesian archipelago. Wherever visitors wish to travel, Kelana DMC can expertly organize their stay. The founders remain actively and fully committed to the company to this day.

What is in a name?

The full name of the company lists as PT. Nitya Kelana Indah. Kelana is the Indonesian word for 'wanderer' while nitya, derived from Sanskrit, stands for a 'positive future', and indah means 'beautiful' in Malay. An auspicious name for an inbound travel company in a country with an intriguing mix of cultures and religions.

40 dedicated, professional men and women serve thousands of travelers to Indonesia, yearly. Clients are travel agencies in Belgium, Hungary, the Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, Switzerland and the US, requiring custom-made FIT packages. Several incentive houses from all over the world give us their trust to handle the most prestigious MICE experiences. Several larger wholesalers, retailing their products through travel agencies, chose us to take care of their clients when traveling in Indonesia

Kelana DMC designs trips for customers who want to travel alone, as a couple, or in small groups of like-minded individuals. It will consider the needs of budget, available time and specific interests of the end-user. Kelana DMC works on a B2B level with travel companies worldwide. Kelana DMC shares its vast knowledge of accommodation, itineraries and places with its clients daily. Time after time, it turns a holiday or a roundtrip in Indonesia into an unforgettable experience, combining off-the-beaten-track locations with classic highlights. Kelana DMC designs the itinerary, books all the required hotels and restaurants, and offers a vehicle in excellent condition and adds a local guide who shares their knowledge with the client while ensuring smooth travel on all levels.

As such, we have prepared, designed and executed incentives for some of the best-known brand names across a wide variety of industries. Continuously operating in conjunction with the overseas DMC and based upon the end user's preferences, Kelana DMC has a proven track record in designing and enabling creative programs in Bali and beyond. It is one of the few companies in Indonesia to operate high-end incentives outside Bali, the traditional center for incentive travel.
