Rise and shine, adventure seekers! Get ready for an early morning wake-up call, as you're about to embark on an exhilarating journey to the summit of Mount Batur. Get driven to the crater rim and embark on a moderate hike to the peak, standing tall at a staggering 1,700 meters above sea level. As you reach the summit, be awestruck by the breathtaking views of a red-sky sunrise over the lake, and take in the spectacular panoramic vistas of Gunung Abang and Gunung Rinjani on Lombok. The effort will definitely be worth it. Take a different path down and end the day with an ample time to soak in the natural hot spring pools with stunning views of the lake. Danau Batur, the lake at the base of the mountain, holds a special significance for the Balinese as the goddess of the crater lake, Dewi Danu, is believed to reside here. This is also the largest lake in Bali, spanning a massive 8km long and 3km wide, and the villages dotting its shores are referred to as "bintang danu" (stars of the lake), making for an even more awe-inspiring experience.
